Read on to learn how to make them for yourself!ĭIY Leather Drawer Pulls Tutorial Supplies Needed for DIY Leather Drawer Pulls I looked all over and nothing really struck my fancy so I decided to make my own. Hairpin legsand painted the drawer fronts, I knew I wanted to change the drawer pulls to something really fabulous.

I thought this can be a really beautiful piece of furniture AND I can use it for storage in the dining room, something I desperately needed! He texted me a picture of this AMAZING Mid-Century Modern Credenza, asking if I wanted it. While I was cleaning and purging our house during Spring Break. I mean, I’m clearly biased but I’m loving the look of them and how much they change the feel of these nightstands. You see, my husband was switching offices at work thus the Spring Cleaning there. Then add a washer and nut on the back to secure the whole drawer pull. I built mine like this, with the washer on the outside and the screw nested in, to give it more of a customized, not so ‘I made these at home’ type vibe. Before you buy the screws, make sure they will be long enough to go through the drawer pull and the drawer. I had picked out some pretty gold ones I found at Home Depot, they have a ton of different options there and they’re all around ¢10 – ¢40 a washer/screw. Then it’s just a matter of putting the washers on! I did one side, and then put the ends together so I could make a second hold that would match up.

Since I don’t have a fancy leather bit or crocodile to make holes, I used a pair of scissors and jabbed one end through twisting it to make a small hole (I’m not sure how well this professional method would work with actual leather though).

I measured out how long I wanted the pulls to be, I made them a touch longer than I wanted them as well because when you make a loop it will make them shorter than you measured (if that makes sense lol). If you’re wanting to make something similar, hit up the thrift store or check your or your hubby’s closets for an old belt you don’t want! I was so happy to repurpose and that meant I only needed to buy a few washers and screws for the drawer pulls. So my luxe vegan leather drawer pulls were from an old belt that had been hanging in my closet since ’09. They only took maybe 30 minutes to put together and totally jazzed up our old nightstands! (Well the leather pulls and a fresh coat of paint lol). The best part was that this project only cost me a few dollars (like maybe $3 max!) You’ll never guess what I repurposed for the pulls!Īctually, you probably will because it’s obvious haha, I used an old faux leather, sorry ‘vegan’ leather (sounds way more bougie and fancy imo). for some reason I think I thought it would be more of a process to make them lol. You guys… making these little leather drawer pulls for our nightstands has been on my to do list for ages.
